So
what hosting service do I need ?

There
are so many combinations of hosting services available, that it can seem
quite difficult to pick the right level of service for your needs. Our
advice is quite simple: Select the minimum package that will satisfy your
immediate needs. Anything more is wasting your money. If you find that
you outgrow your selected package, you can upgrade quickly and easily.
Even our entry-level package however, is sufficient for a website twenty
times larger than this one.
We've tried
to cover some common situations below...

don't really need a website right now, but I want to hold my name for
later use.

Register
your name using our basic registration service DR01
(.ie), DR02 (.com, .biz, .info) or
DR03 (.co.uk) and avail of free domain
parking and a free reservation page.

I
already have free web space from my own service provider, but I would
like to people to access it using a "nicer" address such as
www.mypage.com

|
Register
your name using our basic registration servics DR01,
DR02 or DR03
and purchase the web page redirection option WR01.

I
want to set up my own website
and learn about web page development.

Register
a domain name such as www.mynewsite.com using one of our registration
services DR01, DR02
or DR03.
Then choose our business hosting
and get yourself some easy to use web development software such as Microsoft
Front Page. You can develop and test everything on your PC, then upload
it to the web server by clicking on the Publish button. You will also
be able to receive email for this site.

want to set up a small-medium website for my company. We will also need
to receive email.

Register
a domain name such as www.yourcompany.com using one of our registration
services DR01, DR02
or DR03.
Then choose our our business hosting
or business hosting plus. This will
allow you to set up quite a large website using your preferred web development
software. You will be able to receive email at any number of addresses
such as sales@yourcompany.com. Messages for all addresses can all be picked
up from a single PC using your favourite email software.

a domain name such as www.yourcompany.com using one of our registration
services DR01, DR02
or DR03.
Choose one of our business hosting
(5 POP3 accounts), business hosting
plus (20 POP3 accounts) or our advanced
hosting (40 POP3 accounts). Each POP3 account allows a different person
pick up their mail at different times. You can choose a package with sufficient
POP3 accounts, or simply choose a lower-level package and purchase additional
accounts POP5 as needed.

email at an address such as sales@mycompany.com.

Then choose the email forwarding option EF01.
This allows any email adddressed to your domain (anything@mycompany.com)
to be forwarded to a personal email address to to a different domain.
If you don't already have an email account, or want to have more control
over your email, you could choose our business
hosting account.

to receive email on different machines. We'll need lots of space, and
may need to run a database.

or DR03.
Then choose our advanced hosting
account. This provides buckets of web space, generous traffic allowances
and multithreaded database support.

to capture information such as credit card numbers safely.

or DR03. Then
choose our advanced hosting or add
our secure server option SS01 to
the business hosting account. You
will also need your own secure server certificate (available seperately
from www.verisign.com or www.thawte.com).
